“By surrendering, we let go of how we think things should be, and become flexible, to move with the breeze of Allah’s decree.”
let it go, completely. & surrender to the one that created the heavens & the earth. if it’s khayr (good) for you, it’ll be. otherwise, there is something better in store for you.
Allah knows, even more than you about what you want, & He knows what you need too.
My friend was also telling me earlier how she really wants what Allah wants for her. And I really felt that.
I’m also realizing that whatever you do stay true to Allah first & foremost.
…and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.
[Qur’an; 2: 216]
“Had Allah lifted the veil for his slave and shown him how He handles his affairs for him, and how Allah is keener for the benefit of the slave than his own self, his heart would have melted out of the love for Allah and would have been torn to pieces out of thankfulness to Allah.” 🥺
“It’s always want we want or something better.”
In all actions, do the self-work necessary for freedom and then leave the rest to Allah. Freedom lies in surrender, before, during and after you have done the work to improve your circumstances.
For me, surrendering is a feeling in my heart. That it is upon me to strive but not upon me to arrive. I do my absolute best (whatever that looks like for me, given my circumstances & the means that Allah has blessed me with). Then I have the ultimate conviction that all outcomes lie with Allah. I let go & let Allah…
“And upon Allah, Let the believers rely”
[Quran; 3:160]
You cannot rely on yourself. You cannot carry this mountain on your own. It will crush you if you do. You must hand the mountain to Allah. No challenge is a burden to the Creator of the heavens of the earth. The challenge itself is a creation.

I asked God to grant me a better understanding of prayer and surrendering. Following the prayer, my nephew came over who at the time was around 2 years old. For some reason, there was a small white feather on his shoulder. I picked up the feather, placed it in my palm, and asked my nephew to blow it from my hand. The moment he did, the feather would fly upward and rock back and forth on its way down.
I tried to catch the feather in mid-air, and the air pressure from my attempt would cause it to slip away. Seeing that my baby nephew found this quite amusing and burst out laughing, I decided to do this several times over, and every single time failing in my attempt to catch the feather. But when I asked him to blow the feather from my hand, and followed its trail with my open palms underneath it, the feather landed gracefully in my hands.
When I tried to catch it, I would miss it. When I had my palms open, it would come to me with ease. This little game was my answer and my reminder. To never chase, but to be the calm and patient recipient. Expecting nothing from the creation, and only the best from the Creator, with an open heart filled with trust and faith.

and sufficient is Allah as the Disposer of affairs.
and sufficient is Allah in taking account.
and sufficient is Allah as a helper.
and sufficient is Allah as a witness.
The help of Allah will come. Your duas will be answered. & your Lord will give you & you will be satisfied.
